Capture presets
Apply a built-in capture setup or save your own combination of timing, stop, and keypress options.
Updated November 2, 2026
A preset fills in the Auto Capture options with one selection. This page lists the built-in presets and explains how to apply, save and remove them.
Built-in presets
A preset stores four values: stop condition, interval, key press and countdown. It does not store a capture source, so one preset works with any screen, window or custom area.
Temposhot includes three presets.
| Preset | Stop condition | Interval | Key press | Countdown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kindle | 20 screenshots | 500 ms | Right Arrow | 3 s |
| Quick Demo | 5 screenshots | 1 second | None | 3 s |
| Timelapse | 1 hour | 3 seconds | None | 5 s |
Presets that use Duration or End time are part of Temposhot Pro. On the free plan they show a Pro lock, and selecting one opens the license dialog instead of applying the values.
Apply a preset
Select the preset
Select an unlocked preset under Presets at the top of Auto Capture. The four options update immediately.
Choose the source again
Applying a preset clears the current source. Select a screen, window or custom area before you start.
Start the run
Select Start Capture, or Start Auto Capture in the custom area overlay.
Save the current setup
Configure the options
Set the stop condition, interval, key press and countdown.
Open the save dialog
Select Save Current Setup.
Name the preset
Enter a name in Preset name. The name cannot be empty and must differ from existing presets.
Save
Select Save Preset. The new preset appears next to the built-in ones.
If the name is already taken, Temposhot shows "A preset with this name already exists." Choose another name and save again.
Names that describe the target and the timing are easier to find later.
| Example name | Setup |
|---|---|
| Dashboard every 10 minutes | Duration, 10-minute interval, no key |
| Slides with Right Arrow | Screenshots, 2-second interval, Right Arrow |
| Long article scroll | Screenshots, 1-second interval, Down Arrow |
Remove a preset
Use Remove preset on any preset to delete it. This also works for the three built-in presets. Removing a preset does not delete sessions that were captured with it.
