Navigation and shortcuts
Open each Temposhot workspace and move between capture, history, settings, and Documents.
Updated November 2, 2026
This page lists the Temposhot sidebar destinations, the keyboard shortcut for each one, and the commands in the Capture menu.
Choose a workflow
Each sidebar destination handles one kind of task.
- Use Auto Capture when screenshots should follow a timer, with an optional keypress after each frame.
- Use Website Capture to capture a list of URLs with per-page device, wait and format settings.
- Use Action Capture to record a task click by click and edit the result as a guide.
- Use Documents to combine captures, annotate pages and export a PDF or images.
- Use Tools for one-off conversions such as merging PDFs or stitching screenshots. The same tools are also available on the website, for example Stitch Screenshots.
Sidebar layout
The sidebar groups destinations by purpose.
| Group | Destination | Purpose |

| Capture | Auto Capture | Timed or key-driven screenshot sequences |
| Capture | Website Capture | One screenshot per URL from a list of web pages |
| Capture | Action Capture | One step per click, saved as an editable Document |
| Workspace | Documents | Import, arrange, annotate, frame and export pages |
| Tools | Tools | 21 image and PDF tools that run locally |
| Bottom | Capture History | Saved sessions from earlier runs |
| Bottom | Settings | Language, export path, history size and license |
When a Pro license is active, the sidebar shows Temposhot Pro.
Destination shortcuts
| Destination | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Auto Capture | Command+1 |
| Website Capture | Command+2 |
| Action Capture | Command+3 |
| Documents | Command+4 |
| Tools | Command+5 |
| Settings | Command+, |
| Toggle Sidebar | Command+B |
Capture History has no shortcut. Open it from the bottom of the sidebar or from the View menu.
Capture menu
The Capture menu in the menu bar controls a run without switching to the Temposhot window.
| Command | Shortcut | Available when |
|---|---|---|
| Start Auto Capture | Shift+Command+R | No capture is running |
| Capture Now | Same as the Action Capture manual shortcut, default Shift+Command+2 | An Action Capture run is active |
| Finish Capture | Command+. | A capture is running |
Changing the manual capture shortcut in Configure Action Capture also changes the shortcut shown for Capture Now.
Start a new session
Choose File > New Session or press Command+N. Temposhot opens an empty session named Untitled Session, so the next run does not mix with the frames on screen.
Quit during a capture
Quitting while a capture is running opens Capture in progress. Select Keep Capturing to return to the run, or Quit Temposhot to stop it. Frames saved before quitting stay available.
