Stop conditions, intervals, and keypresses
Control how often Temposhot captures, what happens after each frame, and when the session stops.
Updated November 2, 2026
Four options on Auto Capture define a session: stop condition, interval, key press and countdown. Set them before you choose a source.
Choose a stop condition
A session uses exactly one stop condition.
| Stop condition | Ends the session | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshots | After the set number of frames | Default 5 |
| Duration | After a set number of seconds, minutes or hours | Paused time is not counted |
| End time | At a local date and time | Pausing does not move the end time |
Duration and End time need an interval above zero. The free plan limits the number of screenshots per session, and Temposhot Pro removes that limit.
Set the interval
Interval is the wait between two frames. Enter a value in milliseconds, seconds, minutes or hours. The default is 1 second.
| Content | Typical interval |
|---|---|
| Pages that turn after a keypress | A few hundred milliseconds to a few seconds, long enough for the page to render |
| Interface changes during a demo | 1 second |
| Dashboards or long-running progress | Minutes |
| Timelapse of a work session | Several seconds |
What happens in each loop
Temposhot repeats the same three actions until the stop condition is met:
- Save a screenshot of the source.
- Send the recorded key, if Key press has one.
- Wait for the interval.
Record a keypress
Use Key press when every frame should advance the target, for example to turn a page.
Select the field
Select Key press. The field waits for input.
Press the key
Press the key or combination Temposhot should send after each frame.
Clear it if needed
Use Clear key to remove the recorded key.
Supported keys are letters, numbers, arrow keys, Enter, Tab, Escape, Space and F1 through F12. Combinations with Command, Control, Option or Shift are supported. Keypress automation is a Pro feature and needs Accessibility permission.
Set the countdown
Countdown gives you time to switch to the target and put it in its starting state.
| Value | Wait before the first frame |
|---|---|
| None | No wait |
| 3 s | 3 seconds (default) |
| 5 s | 5 seconds |
| 10 s | 10 seconds |
Pause or stop a run
Pause capture holds the loop, and Resume capture continues it. A Duration session keeps its remaining time while paused. An End time session still ends at the chosen clock time.
Finish capture on the floating toolbar ends the run immediately. Stop capture in the app or the capture overlay pauses the run and asks Do you want to stop the automation? Select Yes to end it or No to continue.
Frames saved before the run ends stay in the session and can be exported. The progress text shows the frame count, and for Duration or End time it also shows the remaining time.
