How Temposhot works
- Step 1
Choose the source
A whole display, one app window, or a custom area of the screen.
- Step 2
Set the rules
Stop condition, interval, countdown, and an optional key press after each screenshot.
- Step 3
Review and export
Keep the frames you need and export images, ZIP, PDF or MP4.
Configure an Auto Capture archive
All run settings on one screen
Choose one stop condition: a number of screenshots, a duration, or a clock time. Intervals accept milliseconds, seconds, minutes or hours. The countdown (none, 3, 5 or 10 seconds) gives you time to put the target in its starting state.
- Stop by count, duration or end time
- Interval and countdown in one place
- Save the setup as a named preset
Example: dashboard every 10 minutes
- Stop condition
- Duration, 8 h
- Interval
- 10 min
- Key press
- None
- Countdown
- 5 s
- Export path
- ~/Desktop/Dashboard
Record work or page sequences
Keep working while it captures
Each loop saves the screenshot, sends the recorded key if there is one, then waits for the interval. For a page archive, Right Arrow or Page Down moves the reader to the next page after every capture.
- Record work in progress without pressing anything
- Advance pages you are allowed to copy with a key
- Pause, resume, or finish early and keep every saved frame

Keep and export the archive
Capture History keeps every session
Finished sessions are listed in Capture History. Open one, select the frames you want, and export. The archive stays on your Mac unless you share the files.
- Single frames as PNG or JPG, or all of them in a ZIP
- An ordered page archive as one searchable PDF
- An MP4 that shows how the screen changed

FAQ
Can Temposhot take screenshots on a timer?
Yes. Auto Capture saves a screenshot of a display, a window or a custom area at your interval until the stop condition is met: a number of screenshots, a duration, or a clock time.
What if each screenshot should follow a click instead of a timer?
Use Action Capture. Auto Capture is for sequences driven by time; Action Capture records one step per accepted click and builds a guide from them.
What can I use an Auto Capture session for?
A work log, a page-by-page archive, a record of a dashboard over a day, or the frames for a timelapse. The session is an ordered set of screenshots with their capture times.
Does a session prove when work happened?
It is a visual record in time order, useful for progress reports and handoffs. It is not cryptographic or legal proof; use a dedicated verification service when that standard applies.
Can I turn ebook or document pages into a PDF?
Yes. Record a page-turn key, run the session, check the pages, and export the selection as a PDF. Archive only content you own or may copy, and never use Temposhot to get around access controls or DRM.
Where are sessions stored?
On your Mac. Sessions and exports are saved locally and nothing is uploaded unless you move or share the files yourself.
Which export formats are available?
PNG or JPG images, a ZIP of the original frames, one searchable PDF in frame order, or an H.264 MP4 at 5 to 60 frames per second.
