Run and review Action Capture

This page covers the controls available while an Action Capture run is recording, what happens when it finishes, and how to manage earlier runs under Recent work.

Use the floating toolbar

When recording starts, Temposhot shows the target and the step count in the app window and in a floating capture toolbar. The toolbar stays on screen while you work in other apps.

The toolbar shows:

• the current state, such as recording or paused;
• the capture type and target;
• the most recent frame;
• the number of saved steps.

Toolbar controls

Control	Effect
Pause capture	Stops accepting clicks; the run stays open
Resume capture	Starts accepting clicks again
Capture now	Saves a step without a click
Finish capture	Waits for pending saves, ends the run and opens the Document

Capture now uses the manual capture shortcut, shown next to the button. The default is Shift+Command+2. Change it under Configure on the Action Capture page. The same command is in the Capture menu as Capture Now, and Finish Capture there uses Command+..

If a step fails to save, Temposhot shows an error and keeps every step that was saved before it.

When a run pauses at a step limit

The free plan has a step limit for each Action Capture run. When a run reaches it, recording pauses and the steps already captured stay saved. Finish the run to open the Document with those steps, or activate Temposhot Pro to remove the limit and continue recording.

Finish and edit

1. Finish the run

   Select Finish capture on the toolbar or press Command+..

2. Review the Document

   Temposhot creates or updates a Document and opens it in the editor. Each step is one page.

3. Edit titles and annotations

   Page titles, cursor overlays and click markers from the run are editable in the editor.

Manage Recent work

The Action Capture page lists earlier runs under Recent work. Open the menu on an item to use one of these actions.

Action	Result
Open in editor	Opens the Document in the editor
Rename…	Changes the name of the work
Show in Documents	Selects the Document in the Documents library
Show in Capture History	Selects the original capture session in Capture History
Delete work…	Asks for confirmation, then deletes the work
