Compare GoFullPage alternatives for one-page capture, URL lists, full-page screenshots, browser tools, automation, APIs, and local export.

GoFullPage is a browser extension that captures a whole web page by scrolling it and joining the parts into one image. It is a common choice for one-off full-page screenshots in Chrome. The limits show up when the job grows: a list of 50 URLs still means opening 50 tabs and clicking the button 50 times. The alternatives below range from other one-page tools to batch and API options.

Features and plans change over time. Check each vendor's current page or store listing before choosing.

The question that sorts these tools is simple: one page at a time, or a list of URLs.

1. Temposhot

Temposhot covers both cases with two parts.

The Temposhot Full Page Screenshot extension for Chrome 116 or later handles single pages. It scrolls the active tab, stitches the screens locally at Retina resolution, and downloads one PNG. It is free and works in your signed-in browser. See the extension page.

Website Capture in the Temposhot Mac app handles lists:

  1. Paste the URLs

Press Command+2, select Bulk insert, and paste one URL per line.

  2. Choose the capture

Pick Desktop 1920×1080, Tablet 768×1024 or Mobile 390×844, then Full page or Viewport.

  3. Run

Set Concurrent browsers from 1 to 10 (default 4) and select Start Capture.

  4. Export

Save the session as ZIP, Images, a searchable PDF or MP4.

Each row can have its own wait condition (Load, DOM content loaded or Network idle, with a 0-60 s delay), image format (JPEG, PNG or WebP) and blocking settings.

Limits: the app runs only on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later. Website Capture sees pages as a signed-out visitor, and there is no scheduler or cloud archive.

2. FireShot

FireShot is a browser extension for capturing full pages, visible areas and selections. It is available for several browsers, including Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Its store listing describes the current export formats and editing features.

Compared with GoFullPage, it serves the same one-tab-at-a-time job. Choose between them based on the browser you use and the export options you need.

3. Chrome DevTools

Chrome includes a full-page capture with no extension at all:

  1. Open DevTools with Option+Command+I.
  2. Open the command menu with Shift+Command+P.
  3. Run "Capture full size screenshot".

The command menu also offers "Capture node screenshot" for one element. Turning on the device toolbar first lets you capture at a phone or tablet width. The result is a PNG in the Downloads folder.

DevTools has no annotation and takes a few more steps than an extension button, but it needs no installation and no extra permissions.

4. Firefox Screenshots

Firefox has a built-in screenshot tool. Right-click a page, choose Take Screenshot, then Save full page or Save visible. You can also click an element on the page to capture just that block. The image can be downloaded or copied.

For Firefox users this removes the need for a full-page extension. Like the other browser tools, it handles one page per action.

5. Urlbox

Urlbox is a screenshot API. Your code sends a URL and rendering options in an HTTP request, and the service returns the rendered page. It suits large URL lists and automated pipelines.

It requires a developer, an account and an API key, and it runs on the vendor's servers. Pricing depends on volume, so check the vendor's current plans.

Which GoFullPage alternative should you choose?

  • One page, occasionally, in Chrome: Chrome DevTools or the Temposhot extension.
  • One page, occasionally, in Firefox: Firefox Screenshots.
  • One page with more export or editing options: FireShot.
  • A list of public URLs on a Mac, without code: Temposhot Website Capture.
  • Thousands of URLs inside an automated system: Urlbox, another screenshot API, or a Playwright script. See How to automate website screenshots with Playwright.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some full-page screenshots repeat the header?

Extensions that scroll and stitch capture fixed headers in each screen. Some tools hide fixed elements after the first screen. Built-in browser tools usually render the page in one pass instead.

Can I capture many URLs with a browser extension?

Most full-page extensions work on the active tab only. For lists, use a batch tool such as Temposhot Website Capture or a screenshot API.

How do I turn a full-page screenshot into a PDF?

Split the image into page-sized parts and combine them with the Image to PDF. The full-page screenshot vs PDF export post explains when each format fits.

Need no-code website screenshot automation?

Temposhot Website Capture runs a whole URL list on your Mac in one pass. See website screenshot automation or start with the Website Capture quick start.
