Best FireShot Alternatives for Mac in 2026

Compare FireShot alternatives for Mac by full-page capture, URL batches, browser support, built-in tools, annotation, and programmatic screenshots.

FireShot is a browser extension for full-page screenshots of web pages. Mac users often look at alternatives for one of three reasons: they want a capture that is not tied to one browser, they need many URLs captured at once, or they want screenshots generated by code. The macOS screenshot tool (Shift+Command+5) does not help here, because it captures only what is visible on screen and cannot scroll a page.

Vendor features and plans change. Check each product's current page before deciding.

1. Temposhot

Temposhot is a native macOS app for automated screenshot capture, with a companion Chrome extension. It covers three FireShot-style jobs in different ways.

One page in Chrome. The free Temposhot Full Page Screenshot extension (Chrome 116 or later) scrolls the active tab, stitches the screens locally at Retina resolution, and downloads one PNG. Details are on the extension page.

A list of URLs. Website Capture in the app takes a pasted list and captures every page in managed local browsers. Options per row include Desktop 1920×1080, Tablet 768×1024 or Mobile 390×844, Viewport or Full page, three wait conditions with a 0-60 s delay, JPEG, PNG or WebP, and ad and tracker blocking. Up to 10 browsers run at once.

Long content outside a browser. Auto Capture records any window or screen area while sending a key such as Page Down between frames. That covers documentation apps and readers where a browser extension cannot run. Key press automation requires Temposhot Pro.

For annotation, captures open in Documents, which has arrows, text and shapes, plus Blur with Temposhot Pro. Single images can also be marked up in the browser with the Screenshot Annotation Tool.

Limits: Apple Silicon Macs only, macOS 14 or later, and no scheduling, cloud storage or change alerts. Website Capture captures what a signed-out visitor sees.

2. GoFullPage

GoFullPage is a browser extension that captures a full web page by scrolling and stitching. It is the closest one-to-one replacement for FireShot's main feature in Chrome. Its store listing describes the current export and editing options.

Choose it if you only need a one-click full-page image in the browser you already use. Like FireShot, it works on one tab per action. The GoFullPage alternatives post covers its own replacements.

3. Chrome DevTools

Chrome can capture full pages with no extension installed. Open DevTools with Option+Command+I, press Shift+Command+P for the command menu, and run "Capture full size screenshot".

Two related commands are useful on a Mac:

  • "Capture node screenshot" saves one selected element.
  • "Capture screenshot" saves only the visible area.

With the device toolbar turned on, the capture uses the emulated phone or tablet size. The files land in Downloads as PNG.

4. Firefox Screenshots

Firefox includes a screenshot tool. Right-click a page, choose Take Screenshot, and select Save full page. Clicking a highlighted block on the page captures just that element. Images can be downloaded or copied to the clipboard.

For Mac users who already browse in Firefox, this replaces a full-page extension for everyday captures.

5. ScreenshotOne

ScreenshotOne is a screenshot API. A script sends a URL with options such as viewport size and full-page mode, and receives an image. It runs on the vendor's servers, so your Mac does not need a browser running, but you need an account, an API key and code to call it.

It fits developers who want screenshots inside an app, a report generator or a scheduled job. Check the vendor's documentation for current options and limits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does macOS have a built-in full-page screenshot?

Not in the system screenshot tool. Safari can save a whole page with File, then Export as PDF, which produces a PDF rather than an image.

Is there a FireShot alternative that saves PDFs?

Safari's Export as PDF and every browser's print dialog save PDFs. Temposhot exports captured pages as a searchable PDF with OCR text.

Can I capture a page that requires a login?

Browser tools and extensions use your signed-in session, so yes. URL-based batch tools usually capture the signed-out version.

Which option keeps screenshots off third-party servers?

The browser built-ins, the Temposhot extension and the Temposhot app all work locally.

Need no-code website screenshot automation?

Temposhot Website Capture captures a full list of URLs locally on your Mac. See website screenshot automation or download the app.
