Screenshot Gallery
What a screenshot gallery is, how to organize captures for review, and when to use one.
A screenshot gallery is a view that shows many captured images as thumbnails, so they can be browsed, selected, opened and exported. Galleries usually group images by capture date, session, app or project, and sort or filter them by time or name.
The term covers several things. In capture apps, it means a built-in library that keeps image files together with their capture details. On websites, a screenshot gallery is a set of product images, such as the screenshots on an app store listing. A gallery differs from a document: a gallery holds loose images, while a document arranges selected images into ordered pages with text.
Why screenshot galleries matter
Automated capture produces images in volume. A run of 200 frames is hard to review as loose files, while a gallery view shows the whole set at once and makes it easy to select the frames to keep, delete duplicates and export the rest.
Where screenshot galleries are used
- Reviewing the results of an automated capture run.
- Picking frames for a step-by-step guide.
- Sharing a set of design or QA captures with a team.
- Showing product screenshots on a website or app store page.
Gallery vs folder
A folder stores files and shows names, dates and icons. A gallery adds grouping by session, selection across many images, previews at a useful size and export actions. A folder is portable and works with any app. A gallery is faster for review but tied to the app that keeps it.
Common mistakes
- Keeping every capture forever until the disk fills.
- Mixing unrelated projects in one folder or session.
- Sharing an entire gallery when only a few images were needed.
- Relying on the gallery as the only copy of important images.
Taking the same screenshots again and again?
Temposhot shows each finished run in the results pane with Select all and per-frame checkboxes, then keeps it in Capture History. Max sessions (1 to 500, default 30) controls how many sessions are kept, and the app asks before purging. Selected frames go to Create Document. See previous sessions.
Common questions
Where does Temposhot keep my captures?
On your Mac. Sessions appear in Capture History, and exports go to the export path set in Settings.
Can I turn a gallery selection into a PDF?
Yes. Select frames, choose Create Document, then export PDF from the document.
