Browsers other than Safari cannot read HEIC, so the tool decodes it with a WebAssembly decoder that loads the first time a HEIC file is added.

JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. The quality slider runs from 10% to 100%; 90% keeps photos and screenshots clear at a moderate size.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The HEIC files are decoded and saved as JPG in your browser. They stay on your device.
