Archive a webcomic or manga reader

Capture the reading column with a Custom Area, scroll with Page Down between frames, and keep the panels as a PDF, a ZIP or images.

Steps

  1. Open the chapter and set the reader to a fixed width

  2. Draw a Custom Area around the reading column

  3. Record Page Down as the key press and set an interval for image loading

  4. Run a short test and adjust the interval

  5. Export the frames as a PDF, a ZIP or individual images

Vertical comics and manga readers show one column of panels that you scroll through. Temposhot captures that column, sends a scroll key, waits, and captures again until the chapter ends.

Set the capture area

Open Auto Capture and select Custom Area. The picker opens with a centered 16:9 box or the area you saved last time. Press Escape once and drag a new box around the reading column only. Drag inside the box to move it, or drag an edge to resize it. The overlay shows the width, height and position in points.

Select Start Auto Capture when the box fits. A fixed area keeps every frame the same size, which makes the PDF pages consistent.

Set the browser or reader to a fixed width before you draw the area. If the column moves when the window resizes, the area no longer lines up with the panels. Turn on Lock aspect when you want to keep the proportions while adjusting the box.

Configure the run

  1. Scroll between frames

Record Page Down or Down Arrow in Key press. Page Down moves about one screen. Down Arrow moves a smaller step and creates more overlap.

  2. Wait for images

Set Interval to 1 or 2 seconds so lazy-loaded panels appear before the next frame.

  3. Stop at the end of the chapter

Set Screenshots to a count that covers the chapter. A few extra frames at the end are easy to clear before export.

  4. Test, then run

Capture 5 frames, check for gaps or half-loaded panels, then start the full run.

Keep the result

Select the frames and export a PDF for reading, a ZIP of the original frames for storage, or Images as PNG files. To join frames into one long strip, use Stitch Screenshots in the browser.
