Can You Download Perlego Books as PDF or Read Them Offline?
Perlego supports offline books inside its iOS and Android apps, not PDF export. Learn the 30-book limit, expiry rules, and device restrictions.

Perlego is a subscription library. You read its books inside Perlego's web reader and mobile apps for as long as your subscription is active. That model shapes what you can save: offline reading inside the app, yes; a PDF of the book, no.
This post explains how offline reading works, the limits to check, and how to keep your own notes. Perlego updates its apps and policies, so its help center is the source for current numbers and device lists.

Download a Perlego book for offline reading
Install the app
Install Perlego on your phone or tablet from the official app store and sign in.
Open the book online
Find the title and open it while connected.
Download it
Use the download option on the book. A downloaded indicator appears when it finishes.
Test offline
Turn on airplane mode, close and reopen the app, and read a few pages from different chapters.
Why the book is not in Downloads
The offline copy is stored inside the Perlego app in a protected format. It does not appear in the Files app, Finder or a Downloads folder, and it opens only in Perlego on your account. This is how most reader platforms work. The post on why offline etextbooks are not in the Downloads folder explains the reasons.
Manage the 30-book limit
Perlego caps how many books you can keep downloaded at the same time. The app tells you when you reach the cap, and the help center states the current number.
- Remove books you have finished before a trip so there is room for new ones.
- Download the books for the coming week, not the whole reading list.
- Removing a download does not remove the book from your library or delete your notes.
Understand download expiry
Offline downloads are tied to your active subscription. The app needs to go online from time to time to confirm it, and downloads stop opening if the subscription ends. The exact period between checks is set by Perlego; check the help center before a long stretch offline.
Open the app with a connection the day before you travel. That refreshes the license check and syncs your highlights.
Can Perlego work on a Kindle?
Kindle e-readers run Amazon's own software and cannot install third-party reader apps. Perlego does not deliver books as files to send to a Kindle. For e-ink reading, check Perlego's help center for the devices it currently supports.
Save your notes before canceling
Your highlights and notes are your work and are worth keeping. Before you cancel:
- Open each book you annotated and review the notes panel.
- Use any notes export Perlego offers for your account.
- If no export exists, copy your own notes into a document, with book title and page.
- Record full citations for anything you quote in coursework.
The post on exporting online textbook highlights and notes has more options.
Where Temposhot does and does not fit
Temposhot fits around Perlego, not as a replacement for it:
- Capturing your own notes view or study outline to keep a record of your work.
- Combining your own diagrams and summaries into a Document with page references.
- Capturing open-licensed material you find elsewhere.
Read when not to screenshot learning materials before capturing any licensed text.

Working with pages you are allowed to save?
For your own notes and open-licensed material, Temposhot captures pages on your Mac and exports a searchable PDF. The save screenshots as PDF page shows the steps.
